Colour Pile is a free card game like UNO that you can play online with friends in your browser. If you are looking for UNO online with friends, it plays the way you'd expect. Match the top card by colour, number or symbol, throw Skip, Reverse and +2 cards at the next player, and race to empty your hand. Two to six players can share a room by code or invite link, and computer players fill any empty seats. It's free, there is nothing to download and no account is needed. You can also play vs Computer or pass one device around with Local vs.

What is Colour Pile?

Colour Pile is My MP Games' own shedding card game, with an original 108-card deck and original card art. It follows the familiar rules of the “colours and numbers” family. If you know UNO you can play straight away. It is also a close cousin of Crazy Eights, which uses a normal deck of cards and has a wild 8. Colour Pile adds action cards, Wild +4 and the “Last card!” call.

The deck

There are four colours: red, yellow, green and blue. Each colour has one 0, two of every number from 1 to 9, and two each of Skip, Reverse and +2. On top of that there are four Wild cards and four Wild +4 cards, for 108 cards in total.

How to play Colour Pile

  1. Deal. Everyone gets 7 cards, and one card is turned face up to start the pile.
  2. Match. On your turn, play one card that matches the top card's colour, number or symbol. A Wild can go on anything, and you choose the next colour.
  3. Draw if you can't play. Draw one card. If it fits you may play it right away, otherwise pass.
  4. Call “Last card!”. Tap the Last card! button when you are about to play down to one card. Forget, and any other player can catch you, and you draw 2.
  5. Go out. The first player to empty their hand wins the round and scores the cards left in everyone else's hands.

Action cards

CardWhat it doesPoints
SkipThe next player misses their turn.20
ReversePlay changes direction. With 2 players it works like Skip.20
+2The next player draws 2 cards and misses their turn.20
WildPlay it on anything and choose the next colour.50
Wild +4Choose the colour; the next player draws 4 and misses their turn. Only allowed when you have no card of the current colour.50

Number cards score their face value. A Wild is never used as the starting card. If the starting card is an action card, it applies to the first player.

House rules you can toggle

  • Play to: a single round, or a game to 100, 250 or 500 points.
  • Stacking: answer a +2 with your own +2 or a Wild +4, or a Wild +4 with another Wild +4, and the total passes to the next player. Whoever can't stack takes all of it.
  • Turn timer: 15, 30, 60 seconds or 2 minutes per turn, so nobody stalls an online game. If time runs out, a move is made for you.

Play UNO-style online with friends, vs Computer or on one device

Invite with a link

Press Create room and share the room code or invite link. Friends join from any phone or computer, empty seats can be given to computer players, and late arrivals can watch the game as spectators.

Play vs Computer

Press Play vs Computer for an instant game against computer players. They follow the same rules as you, call “Last card!” (most of the time) and will catch you if you forget.

2 players or Local vs

Colour Pile works with as few as 2 players. In a two-player game Reverse acts as a Skip, so you play again. With Local vs, you pass one device around and a screen hides each hand between turns.

Strategy tips

  • Hold on to Wild cards for when you really need them. They are worth 50 points against you if someone else goes out first.
  • Get rid of high cards and action cards early if you think someone is about to go out.
  • Change the colour to one the next player just drew on. It's a sign they have none of it.
  • Watch the card counts. When someone drops to one card without calling, tap Catch.

Colour Pile is an original game by My MP Games. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Mattel or UNO®. UNO is a trademark of its owner and is used here only to describe the style of game.

Colour Pile FAQ

Can I play a game like UNO online with friends for free?

Yes. Colour Pile is free in your browser. Create a room, share the code or link, and 2 to 6 friends can join from phones or computers. No download and no account are needed.

Can you play Colour Pile with 2 players?

Yes. Two-player games work well. Reverse acts like Skip, so you get another turn. Add computer players if you want a bigger table.

Can I play against the computer?

Yes. Press Play vs Computer for an instant game, or fill empty seats in an online room with computer players.

What happens if I forget to call last card?

Any other player can tap Catch, and you draw 2 cards. If nobody catches you, you still draw 2 when the next move is made.

Can you stack +2 and +4 cards?

Only if the host turns on Stacking. You can then answer a +2 with a +2 or a Wild +4, or a Wild +4 with another Wild +4, and the total passes on.

Is Colour Pile the official UNO game?

No. Colour Pile is an original game with its own deck and art. It plays like UNO but is not affiliated with Mattel or UNO.
