How to play Rang (Cards - Court Piece) online
Rang, also called Court Piece or Rung, is the partnership card game played across Pakistan and India. Four players form two teams, and partners sit opposite each other. A standard 52-card deck is used and aces are high.
Deal and trump
Play goes counter-clockwise (to the right), as is usual in Pakistan. The dealer deals five cards each; the player on the dealer's right looks at those five and calls the trump suit (rang). Then everyone is dealt up to 13.
Tricks
The caller leads. Follow the suit that was led if you can; if you cannot, trump it or throw any card. The highest trump wins the trick, otherwise the highest card of the led suit, and the winner leads next.
Collecting tricks
Won tricks stay in a pile in the middle. The winner of trick 3 collects all 3; after that only every second trick collects, so the winners of tricks 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 each take the 2 tricks since the last collection. The first team to collect 7 tricks wins the hand. Collecting 7 while the other team has none is a Kot, worth 2 hands.
Next deal and the match
If the calling team wins, the same dealer deals again. If it loses, the deal passes to the caller, so the other team calls next. The host chooses a match to 5, 7 or 10 hands. Hidden-trump Sir play is not included.
Ways to play
Play vs Computer with three CPU players, pass one phone around in Local, or create a room, share the code and approve friends into the four seats. Empty seats are filled by the computer only if the host chooses. Friends can watch or ask to join. Read the full Rang guide, or try Hearts and Texas Hold'em.
