Full-rules chess in the browser: room-code online, Local vs, or vs Computer from Beginner to Expert.

Chess on My MP Games is the same game you know from a club clock and a tournament sheet, rebuilt so two people can finish a real game in a browser tab. Pieces only move legally. Pins, checks, castling rights, en passant, and promotion are checked on the server, so a flashy illegal hop never lands. The board is a strict 8×8 of square cells: White sits at the bottom, files a–h and ranks 1–8 stay labeled, and highlights use shadows that never stretch a square. Open Play vs Computer and the opponent thinks in a Web Worker. Beginner wanders; Expert searches deeper without freezing the page. Local vs is pass-and-play with optional auto-flip. Online, share a five-character room code — clocks are server-stamped so both screens agree. The move list is SAN (Nf3, O-O, e8=Q#). Draw offers, resign, and undo (local / vs Computer) sit in the side panel. Time controls run from none to 15+10. Pick White, Black, or Random against the CPU. Captured material and a check glow sit on the squares without changing their size — the same layout lock we use on Checkers. If you want a smaller tactics board after chess, jump to Checkers for forced jumps, or Go for surrounding territory. King of the Hill is the one extra chess variant: mate still wins, and so does parking your king on d4, d5, e4, or e5. Staunton silhouettes stay inside each square; empty files do not collapse when pieces leave. Everything here is free HTML5 — no download, no account, no engine install. Use the how-to guide for the special-move list, then start a room and play.
