How to Play Bumper Sumo Online
Bumper Sumo is a 3D arena duel. Drive a bumper pod on a glowing disc and knock the other driver off — first to three falls wins.

Controls
- Desktop: W / ↑ drive, A/D or ←/→ steer, Space or Shift boost
- Local vs: P1 WASD + Space, P2 arrows + Enter
- Mobile: on-screen GO, BOOST, ◀, ▶ (56px+)

Step by step

Pick a mode
Online with a room code, Local vs on one device, or vs Computer (Easy / Medium / Hard).

Wait for GO
A short countdown freezes the pods. Hold drive so you launch on GO.

Ram and recover
Boost into them near the rim. If you get hit, steer back toward the center.

First to three
Each fall is a point. Rematch from the overlay when someone reaches three.

Pro tips
- A boost hit near the edge is usually the knockout.
- Hard AI aims through you toward the void — do not idle on the lip.
- On a phone, landscape puts GO and BOOST under your thumbs.

Is the physics fair online?
Yes. The server owns positions. Clients send drive inputs and interpolate.
Will it run on a mid-range phone?
Yes. three.js is lazy-loaded on this page, pixel ratio is capped, and the scene is low-poly.
