How to play Paper Territory
Paper Territory is a free paper.io-style game for two players. Each of you starts with a small square of land on a 40×40 board, and the match is a race to paint as much of it as you can — without getting caught outside.
Rules
Your block moves all the time; you only choose where it turns. While you are on your own land nothing is at risk. Step outside and you leave a trail behind you. Steer back onto your land and the loop closes: the trail and everything inside it becomes yours, including any of your rival’s land you surrounded. If anyone runs over your trail while you are outside, you are out — and running into your own trail or the wall knocks you out too. Trap your rival inside a loop and they are out. The match ends when a player is out, when someone owns 60% of the board, or after two minutes, when the bigger territory wins.
Controls
Keyboard: arrow keys or WASD. Phone or tablet: swipe in the direction you want to go, or use the on-screen pad. You cannot turn straight back on yourself. In Local vs, P1 uses WASD and P2 the arrow keys, each with a pad on their side.
Tips
Short loops are safe loops: claim a strip, come home, repeat. Watch your rival’s head when you are out — if it is closer to your trail than you are to your land, turn back. Their long trail is your best chance to win.
